„Creativity is not what I do —
it’s how I understand the world.“
Colour, form, and feeling. Mac Kristen works as an upcoming artist and brand designer in Frankfurt, Germany, translating inner worlds into visual compounds.
Creativity came early. At seven, painting in primary school, I dreamed that this could be my path. At twelve came a decisive insight: design and branding are actual professions and opened further creative horizons. These two moments shape my work as an artist and media designer until today.
After finishing my A-Levels in my hometown Grünberg, Hessen, I relocated to Frankfurt to study Media Design at IU International University of Applied Sciences. Through a dual degree programme, I gained two and a half years of experience at a Frankfurt creative agency and one year in the marketing department of a financial corporation. In March 2026, I completed my degree and established my independent branding studio.
Since 2024, I create abstract paintings. Initially driven by intrinsic motivation as personal catharsis and stress relief, encouraging feedback led me to pursue professional artistic practice. My debut was a group exhibition near Toulouse as part of an international cultural and artistic exchange. I subsequently presented my work in a solo exhibition in my hometown of Grünberg afterwards.
In my abstract painting, I translate inner and outer worlds. Inspired by music, my emotions and compositions out of my day to day life, I work intuitively. My design education provided me with comprehensive knowledge of colour theory and composition, which I consciously influence my artworks. The result is my artistic language that transforms the felt and observed into a dynamic interplay of form and colour.
