2026

© Mac Kristin

„2026“ initiates an ongoing annual practice documenting personal growth and intentional focus. The work begins with intentions written across the canvas in grey alcohol marker, barely visible beneath the final composition. These hidden statements form the conceptual foundation, rendered nearly invisible to represent the internal work that precedes external transformation. Black and blue acrylic markers overlay the grey text partially, selectively emphasizing priorities and areas of concentrated focus. These marks function as visual anchors, highlighting what matters most within the larger landscape of intention. Masking tape defines geometric boundaries, creating controlled zones within which blue acrylic wash is applied, introducing colour and movement while maintaining structural discipline.
The resulting composition balances concealment and revelation: personal goals remain largely hidden while visual emphasis communicates what has been prioritized. This tension between private aspiration and public expression characterizes the work’s conceptual framework. „2026“ establishes the first iteration of the new annual series „Years of Growth“, with each subsequent year introducing new intentions and different colour palettes. The practice transforms goal-setting into visual documentation, making abstract personal development tangible.
